Q1. Who is to blame if anyone? Explain

Nobody is to blame it is a natural disaster- no one causes it. It is out of our control. However some people blame God.

Q2. How can you reconcile the pain and suffering with the Christian understanding of God?

Reconcile:
You can never fully reconcile all the pain and suffering. Through new life.

Q3. What is your personal reaction to the pain and suffering depicted?

It is horrible to see everybody's lives destroyed. You cant imagine what they went through. Losing friends, family, houses and everything that you knew in a blink of an eye. You feel shocked, helpless, very small in retrospect.

Q4. What can be done, if anything to avoid this kind of occurrence?

People and places can be prepared and have various evacuation routes and they could build houses out of certain materials that can withstand earthquakes.
You can't really avoid or prepare for situations like these- its how we deal with the aftermath that defines us.


Christchurch Earthquake

Q1. Who is to blame if anyone? Explain

Nobody is to blame it is a natural disaster- no one causes it. Global Warming!

Q2. How can you reconcile the pain and suffering with the Christian understanding of God?

Reconcile:
You can never fully reconcile all the pain and suffering. However you can try to reconcile through new life.

Q3. What is your personal reaction to the pain and suffering depicted?

It's horrible! You can't imagine how scared they must have been and how much they went through. Buts it's touching to see people helping each other in a time of crisis.

Q4. What can be done, if anything to avoid this kind of occurrence?

You can't really avoid or prepare for situations like these- its how we deal with the aftermath that defines us.


Syrian/ Egyptian Violence

Q1. Who is to blame if anyone? Explain

The leaders/ government are to blame as they are torturing and beating people up. People shouldn't be treated like that. However the people/ demonstraters do fight back with similar violence.

Q2. How can you reconcile the pain and suffering with the Christian understanding of God?

The only way to reconcile all the pain and suffering is for the government to stop fighting and make peace. They have to try and apologise to everyone. God is not in this as he doesn't want us to be violent- maybe we will learn from our mistakes? God can stop it through other powerful people.

Q3. What is your personal reaction to the pain and suffering depicted?

It is horrible and very scary to think that another person could do that to someone. The video was very graphic and I can't believe what the world has come to- there is so much violence. Empathetic.

Q4. What can be done, if anything?

The government/ the dictator should make peace with its people. They should make apologies to everyone. We should all develop understanding, love and tolerance.

Nobody is to blame.

You can't reconcile the pain and suffering. You can only come together as a community and grieve- then move on and rebuild together.

Q3. What is your personal reaction to the pain and suffering depicted?

It is horrible- especially because its so close to us.

Q4. What can be done, if anything to avoid this kind of occurrence?

Be prepared- know how to react if it happens again. Be careful.

The people who started the fire! Human error.

Q2. How can you reconcile the pain and suffering with the Christian understanding of God?

Nobody can possibly reconcile the pain and suffering- we can only hope that time will heal the devastation.

Q3. What is your personal reaction to the pain and suffering depicted?

It is devastating. So many people died and so many people's homes were destroyed. The people who survived and rebuilt are really amazing.

Q4. What can be done, if anything to avoid this kind of occurrence?

Don't play with fire!
